In this course, students will explore the theory and practice of politics in the United States of America. Students will investigate both the origins and the current shape of America’s constitutional system, including debates over the nature of popular sovereignty, citizenship, separation of powers, checks and balances, republicanism, federalism, rights and justice. Students will challenge themselves to define their own political ideals and to explore means of putting those ideals into practice within their local communities.
