English 7 immerses students in the study of literature as a mirror for self-discovery and a window into diverse cultures. Through various narrative genres like fiction, historical fiction, and mythology, students analyze literary elements, authorial craft, and cultural contexts. Critical reading and writing skills are sharpened through literary analysis essays, comparative studies, and creative projects. Students learn to construct focused thesis statements, integrate evidence, and provide insightful commentary. Poetry analysis develops skills in interpreting imagery, figurative language, and verse structures. Emphasis is placed on using literature to build empathy, self-awareness, and global perspectives.
