This course introduces students to the language and cultures of the Arabic-speaking world. Through lessons, guided practice, hands-on activities and collaborative projects, students will build their communication skills, storehouse of everyday vocabulary, confidence reading and writing in the Arabic script, and facility with basic grammatical patterns and concepts. By the end of this course, students will be able to conduct short conversations with another speaker on a general topic. Throughout, geographical and cultural explorations provide a foundation for understanding and appreciation of the rich heritage of the Arabic speaking world.
