This course emphasizes communication by applying interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational skills in real-life situations. This includes vocabulary usage, language control, communication strategies, and cultural awareness. To provide context and content for students to develop their communication skills, the course takes a thematic approach. There are six themes: families and communities, personal and public identities, science and technology, contemporary life, global challenges, and beauty and aesthetics. Students are expected to use French at all times and to engage thoughtfully with the course materials, the teacher, and the other students.
