Students will read and critically assess major works of English-language imaginative literature — including fiction, poetry, and drama — from a diverse range of periods and styles. Topics covered will include style, structure, themes, imagery, figurative language, and symbolism. Students will develop their essay-writing skills, with attention to expository, analytical, and argumentative forms. On successful completion of this course, students will be prepared to sit the AP English Literature and Composition AP exam.
