This course is the equivalent of a college-level introductory computing course. Students in AP Computer Science P explore the foundational concepts of computer science; the power of abstraction and algorithmic computation; practical applications in the contemporary world; as well as the promises and perils of future developments. Major topics covered include computational solution design; algorithms and program development; abstraction in program development; code analysis; computing innovations; and responsible computing. On successful completion of this course, students will be prepared to sit the AP Computer Science P exam.
Note: Students will require regular access to a laptop or desktop computer running any standard Operating System.
